I am waiting for Google to get allocation of new domain types. I am sure they have a pretty cool long term solution for Google+

Google+ Comments platform is a good example that Blogger is not going anywhere. Blogging might not be as popular as it was few years ago, but it is not going anywhere.

Blogger is a mass market product. Google itself uses it for their own blogs. And it does make them money because a lot of bloggers use AdSense on their blogs.

The problem with Blogger is that the importer is horrible. I have been wanting to move my personal blog from WordPress to Blogger for a while now. The official importer does not accept WordPress XML file. There is a converter but it does not handle more than 1MB archives. And you lose a lot of data in the migration process.

Blogger can potentially gain a lot of subscribers if they add in proper importers for popular competing blogging platforms.
