What for? Microsoft already has Yammer which is an enterprise type social network.
Don’t forget Microsoft also owns a portion of Facebook.

I dont think Windows will ever be truly done but I think with a few more iterations Windows will fade to the background more.
Think about the sheer volume of PC’s that use Windows around the world, if Microsoft stopped making Windows tomorrow we would still have Windows machines around for a good ten years.

This would be a smart move for Microsoft, they recognise Windows is not going to be the cash cow it once was and instead forms a sort of back bone for the company.
Interesting times it would seem.

Interesting device (probably) terrible name.

Asus describes it as the ’world’s first’ combination of a mouse and touchpad.
I reckon Apple might have something to say about that with their Magic Mouse….

I doubt it, still compared to what an upgrade for Windows used to cost the OSX upgrades are a relative bargain.

Quite simply it’s me with a dash of Photoshop laid over the top.
I have been a Photoshop dabbler for a few years and thought I could use a cool (ish) avatar to reflect what I like to do with my downtime.

If I recall Josh mentioned in one of the Vergecasts that the tablet versions were still in development?
I believe he called Safari the current Verge tablet app.

Depends what your expectation of new is I suppose?
For sure most of the Mac lineup will get Haswell chips along with the newest version of OSX (eventually).
From what I’ve read about Haswell better battery life is one of the big selling points, Sean Hollister’s writeup has all the details here.

Chronologically the first film was simply called Star Trek The Motion Picture but you could watch the 2009 re-boot on its own without seeing any of the original films.

6"+ is the new norm for 2013’s android phablets.
Really? Surely some of that R&D budget would be better spent making a longer lasting battery?
I cannot ever see myself using anything bigger than a five inch phone, my better half has a Nexus 4 and I have an iPhone 5, neither of us feel constrained by screen size.

I do agree but the thought of a Carbon Fibre Mac weighing half the current model you have to admit is a wonderful dream….

That looks like a smaller HTC One in the picture? M4 maybe?
Also what is that monstrosity in the bottom right of the image, does it say Sony on the top?

If and when we ever see the Apple TV you can bet the hardware will be sublime, however TV is about much more.
What Apple and the rest of the TV industry need to do is something different, change the game. The user experience is key. I’m lucky enough to live in the UK where we have Sky + which is one of the best services around (at a price) and it still sucks, it’s the same as its always been, an EPG with 500 or so channels and a mine field trying to find something half decent to watch.
For my two pennies, I think Xbox One is the most promising thing to happen to TV in a long time, but even thats far from perfect although to be fair we dont really know what Xbox One TV can really do yet.

I could see the Nexus program and Google Edition phones living side by side.
Nexus could become the aggressively priced Google own brand so to speak and then Google Edition phones could be for the premium market.

Just to be clear I have no proof of this whatsoever… Would just be cool I think? Although ironically physically cool it may not be, I believe the aluminium body of the current Mac lineup acts as a form of heat sink?
My own MBP sat on my lap as I type this is rather toasty, not sure Carbon Fibre would sufficiently cool a super fast Haswell chip?
Anyway… We can dream?

Big pinch of salt needed with that post. December 31st seems odd? Why announce now and then miss the lucrative holiday season? Also £600 seems far too high, not saying its a deal breaker but out of reach for a lot of people. Placeholders are not usually very accurate.

Release time I would guess towards the end of the year, October / November time.
As to the manufacturer? I think we can assume LG will not be the partner of choice.
I would like to see Sony have a crack at a Nexus, wild speculation only, no proof.
