Black 16GB iPhone 5 on iOS 7 Beta 1
Nexus 7 on CyanogenMod 10.1 (RC5)
Late ’11 Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz i7, 16GB RAM, 1GB 6770M, high-res display, OS X 10.9 DP1, etc.
My next: Either an HTC One or iPhone 5S, Nexus 7 successor, and no new laptop for a few years.

I disagree that there is such a thing as “too much”. I want the same connection speed no matter where I am or what device I’m using.
Your concern should be how much data is being fed to you by the services you use: sites, streaming video and music, etc. Are those services doing all they can to deliver you a good experience while not being data-hungry? They need to improve along with the technology we are using to access them. Even if many of them are already doing a good job… you can always do better.

I read the title of the article as “Jay-Z gives away his album to the whole world three days early at the expense of Samsung”. Seriously, this is like strategic self-pirating.

Interesting. For the record, I went a roundabout way of installing mine using a USB flash drive.

If released, it could be used as a daily driver (at least on my system).
I have been using it as my daily driver, a Late ‘11 15" MBP. I have actually had far fewer issues than what you’re describing. My only glitch so far has been disappearing menu items in the status bar for the current app. That’s it. They’re actually still there and functional, they just disappear until you click on them.

These updates, “boring” as they may be to some, are exactly what I’m hoping for. They’re all practical, usable improvements. I love how my 5 looks, no need to change it just yet… just make it better.
To the OP: I say wait for the 5S.

That edge glow gets really annoying.
That drives me nuts too! I only just in the last few months got familiar with Android after purchasing a Nexus 7. I kept asking my buddy how to get rid of that glow, and his answer was always, “I don’t think you can”.

Ummm… I’m almost positive my iPhone 5 on Verizon has had this since I got it, or at least most of the time I’ve had it. I specifically remember having to turn off AMBER alerts because it was alerting me for children hundreds of miles away, and it’s INSANELY high-pitched and annoying.

How is participating in a public discussion, a few lines at a time, sad? Also, if you review my post history, you’ll find that this is likely the first time ever on this site that I have called anyone “sad”.

I know it’s just a joke, but the fact that somebody took the time to think that up and type it out is kind of sad.

Are you a dev? If not, did you have to get a dev to set it up for you or were you just able to download and install? I’m going to attempt it (on a new partition) if I don’t need dev access of some sort to install it.

Yes, they transfer as they do with any backup.
Yes, you can downgrade to the most recent (6.1.3 or 6.1.4) version for your device.
Comment
Just make sure you do a back up of some sort before you install and you’ll be fine. Worst case scenario, you can reinstall 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 depending on your device.

I have the beta running on my iPhone 5 and showed it to my mom this morning at breakfast. She’s got a 4S on 6.1.3, and she said she could tell it was different but liked that it wasn’t too different. It was described to me by her as “simple”. I would agree, and I like the simplicity. It’s all setup very much like I had my jailbroken 6.1.2 setup.

I’m not sure how they would do it with the radios. HTC did okay with the One, but I don’t know that it’s up to Apple’s standards.

No matter what route you go to get the IPSW file, if you’re not downloading from the Apple site it is going to take you a while. It may take a while from the Apple site, too… I wouldn’t know.

I noticed the same thing, and I agree that I think the OS looks a lot nicer on a white iPhone now than iOS 6 does. I have a black 5, so I’ll be interested to see how I like it.

I have had my UDID registered for a while now but I have not yet been able to get my hands on the IPSW anywhere.

This is essentially what my screen already looks like, although I’m jailbroken. I very much like this minimalism and would love to see Apple go that direction with iOS 7.
