lol, verizon and verizon wireless are two different companies. Add to that, verizon wireless is working with Time Warner on other ventures. kinda hard to be anti-competitive when you’re subsidiaries are working with the competition.

If you were to continue that practice, there’s nothing stopping websites offering completely different experiences based on where you live. Again, it’s a bad path to travel down and we, as internet users should be apathetic about it.

On a base level, you’re right. But let’s think about it, if there is a clip that you want to look up, what’s the likelihood of you seeing a dailymotion clip show up before a YT result on google?

Honestly, when your product goes from being a product to becoming THE portal for your industry, this kind of thing will happen. Its a revised mid-90’s Microsoft approach. We have no idea what computing would look like if MS didn’t have to deal with the anti-trust litigation BUT we do clearly live in a place where there’s better, more viable competition. Can’t complain about that…
