Take a class on the 1st Amendment. SC has specifically ruled that one has no right to expected privacy when in public- that’s why paparazzi hound celebs, and the police can dig through your trash once you put it out, because if its open to general view and not private property its open season- same reason cops record stops often. Goes both ways. That’s why they have to try to trump up some bogus @as charge like loitering… What a joke. If I’m in a park or a nice day relaxing and laying down to enjoy myself- then I’m technically loitering, but highly to almost certain that no PO is going to come up and ticket me for it. Now, if I’m doing the same thing and something breaks out which I start recording bc I think its newsworthy or excessive, but the cop doesn’t want me to document his actions – now I’m suddenly in violation. Doesn’t make much sense, and doesn’t the saying go, If your doing nothing wrong then you have nothing to hide, right?
Police – or at least some of them, because there are plenty of honest, dedicated, good ones I’m sure, just don’t like the idea of the public policing the police.
Like I said do a little reading up on the 1st and other Constitutional protections laid out be the SC rulings and most people would see that prohibiting this is def. an infringement of every American’s fundamental rights as a citizen.
