What I like? The fact that it is trying something entirely new, which is exciting and so much fresher than what has been offered before.
I like that it gives me the option of choice.
I like that it feels alive, all the Metro animations really struck a chord with me somehow.
I like the emphasis on content over chrome. I know this sounds like bullshit advertising, but it really does struck out when looking at other OS apps and seeing how they have such horribly cluttered menues. I like the emphasis on typography.
I like unified search and share. I love how useful Wikipedia has become through this.
I once chatted with a regular Sony Vaio user. At the end of his laptops lifespan, he decided to open the case and look at the innards.
He found that in the big bulky Vaio laptops, the parts are not actually new, but rather, re-used parts. The entire laptop was a stiched together Frankenstein from other PCs. And apparently, this is totally legal.
I enjoy other VAIO hardware, such as their tablets (the form factor is too thin to retrofit parts, so they have to use new ones), but their overpriced laptops, I don’t dare to touch.
