I also had the Firewire 400 iPod. I remember installing the Firewire card in my PC at the time cause I didn’t have a Mac.

I don’t recall what my first song was. I had a lot of stolen music I had downloaded over the years prior. Now that I have a job that pays me a decent salary I don’t steal music and movies as much.

More recently I started buying a lot of movie soundtracks. I find that they offer good variety and are generally a great price if the movie is not brand new.
