No need to charter a plane. I think he just sold one of his old one’s to Trump and bought two more. A Gulfstream and something else. Lets not get started on his massive yacht. More power to him though, he spends his money on some interesting stuff from SETI to Allen Brain Institute.

It would have to be stock Android Nexus The skins are too brutal. Plus, no contracts.

Storage isn’t really a problem with the cloud though. Photos, music, docs, etc. can all be drawn down when needed. The storage issue was never big for me. I have a 32gb iPhone and only use about 10GB of it, so 16GB wouldn’t really be cramping my style.

He used to be pretty built if I’m not mistaken. Paul Allen’s book mentions him being up at the crack of dawn in the hotel room doing push ups and generally being an intense guy. Time is kind to very few.

Because they had to use the photo somewhere, otherwise they’d have to explain why they were d*cking around on the job.

Didn’t Facebook turn down $1b from Yahoo? Have we been at this dance before?
I’m guessing it is going to come down to what Bijan, Fred Wilson and the rest of the VC’s want, as I don’t think David has a majority stake it in by a long shot.

Yes, totally. Because there aren’t a myriad of obstacles standing in the way to even basic level innovation.
Heck, we are still trying to justify the continued existence of car dealers and governments doing their dealings.

Amazon seems to rely pretty heavily on old, shitty technology. The MP3 web player looks like it was designed in 1993. The whole reliance on “Unbox” and only being windows only and SD for movies is also silly. They still have a lot of growing up to do.

Yeah. Their web player is horrendous. Maybe soon? One of the biggest company in the world can only hire enough engineers to work on one project at a time I guess.
Now that they’ve established a design language for themselves it would be silly to leave the web player as is.
Android lacking Instant Video and an ability to back up copies of purchased movies (Unbox only SD and Windows) is rather inexcusable for a company that wants to seriously compete in this space and be on every device.

Actually I don’t, because I have basic reading and analytic skills to be able to read the statistics that show crime has not gotten worse.
Yes there has always been rude people, and technology has amplified accordingly as well as a decreasing amount of respect for others found in our society (and best exemplified, but hardly limited to, our political discourse). If you think society – as a living organism – hasn’t changed, you are kidding yourself.

Except there is a big demand for these things, and that is just including the rich people. Make the financing just right so those that wish they were rich can afford it (but just barely and only with a second mortgage) you have $$$$$$$$$$$$.

Yeah. I like the art house cinemas, esp. in more rural areas getting second run movies. Some fascinating old buildings. The seats and sound and sight lines suck, but still enjoyable.
Movie industry numbers look the same as the concert industry – less people, more expensive $$$ gives the illusion of everything being OK.

Technology wise, yes. People wise? No. As society gets ruder and ruder and unable to control themselves in public and display basic manners, this will turn folks like me off who would rather settle for watching at home even if it means waiting a few months.
