As a occasional user of Evernote and Penultimate, this seems like the perfect combination. Seems like a smart move, I just hope no one loses their jobs if they merge.

I think something some of us are forgetting is that icons and text are two these that serve the same purpose. And by any means, text is more universally understood. Yes there are tons of languages and cultures, but for example, English (or any other language) is widely accepted enough to be a standard. When I read your responses about saving space, small screens, tooltips and hints, I just think theres a simple enough solution. Why not just remove the icons? I mean certain actions SHOULD have icons for aesthetic appeal and differentiation, but in the long run, an app is about function, and text is the direct answer to this space problem. If you were to just use text you save a ton of screen real-estate, especially on smaller screens. What do you guys think?

Honestly, I wish they took some of the aesthetics from the Bold and applied them to this device. They have a decent design team, and its a shame they’re playing it so safe. If BlackBerry wants to get out of the hole they’ve dug themselves into, they need to do something drastic. Its time to stand out from the crowd.
