I really like the idea of using the engine to help take away the number of developers needed to create a good game. I think that coupled with the huge indie movement taking place will be a good combo on next gen platforms. However, UE3 is probably already reaching the limits of current gen consoles. UE4 will probably be great, but MS and Sony already take a loss when selling console hardware, they can’t afford to really beef up the consoles too much without charging a high price for it. I have a hard time picturing consoles getting much better than PCs if they can’t use the best hardware possible.

That being said, I’m still excited to see what Epic can churn out with UE4.
