Are you just sitting at your house all day hoping the weather card comes up? It sounds like you are since you also checked a Nexus 7 :P
Google Now reports the weather of a new location you travel to. Anytime I go anywhere, i have a variety of Google Now cards, ranging from Weather to photo spots to restaurants I might like (and that impressed me consider I don’t live in the US).
When you’re at home, the only cards it will report (for me at least) are calendar appointments, travel times (if you’ve added an address to your calendar event), and sports results. Calling Google Now useless is ludicrous IMO. It’s like calling Google Search useless.

Huh that’s strange, it must only be effecting some N4’s because the WiFi on mine is totally fine, I’d even call it great.
Here’s hoping they fix it for those with this issue, sounds like a horrible problem to have.

YES! That search bug is annoying as shit.

The Nexus S was supported for 2 years by Google, the Galaxy Nexus looks like it’ll be supported for another while longer, and with the horse power the N4 is packing, I can see if being supported for another 2 years.
So yes, the Nexus 4 will still be very relevant next year.

The YouTube app isn’t lacking in design, it’s lacking in (some) functionality, particularly to do with comments. Seriously, why can’t I reply to comments in it? Upvote comments? View top rated comments?
Also, the gallery app doesn’t need a design change IMO, I think it needs to be able to manage Picasa web albums directly from the app. Even something as simple as being able to delete a photo stored in web albums would a massive step forward.
Gmail, it’s design isn’t bad, but if it got a redesign, I wouldn’t be complaining.

It sounds like everyone here expects I/O to be an android conference :P
Ask yourselves this, who should Google cater the conference towards? The devs who massively help android and chrome thrive, who also spent hundreds of dollars to attend the conference? Or the teenage goons watching it on YouTube who will probably complain about the new music service not being free?

What do we get this year? Some app updates and a shitty texting app that doesn’t do sms.
That’s pretty much in line with every years I/O, a single device announcement with a shit load of Google Services announcements.
It sounds like you’re comparing every I/O to this years, all at once, which is pretty stupid. The only thing this year was missing is a new android OS, and that seemed very deliberate.

They’d need to redo the GM app!! If make a deal with 3 big names, launch a steaming service, but DON’T update that eyesore, then I give up.

I don’t mind if it’s released as a US only product, I just hope it doesn’t take too long to make its way to the UK, since standard Google Music took ages.

No, the issue is the N7’s hardware. The N10 and N4 hardly lag and they’re running an identical version of Android.

Another thing I loved about AOKP: You can turn of those irritating lockscreen hints, every time your device screen turns on. God I hate those :P
Halo is actually pretty useful, more useful than I thought it’d be. Using it with Google Talk/Skype/Any messenger really is awesome, and it gives Spotify quick access to music controls (My main problem with the Spotify app is that it DOESN’T have notification controls for some stupid reason :P).
When Halo lets you toggle through notifications, it’ll be awesome :D

I personally use PA because I really like the Hybrid settings, using apps like Google Talk while in tablet mode is a nice touch. On top of that, PA seems to be the only ROM coming out with proper new features recently, such as Per-App expanded desktop + PIE (The perfect gaming combo, esp for a Nexus phone), and now Halo, which I can’t stress just how cool it is.
When I tried CM10 I thought it was underwhelming, no real standout feature, and it felt like a waste of time to flash. AOKP, while I love the customisation, simply offered too much, it’s almost headache inducing to go through ROM control :P And finally, PACrom + others that combine the 3 are just a buggy mess.
Comment
Since AOKP has so many aspects you can toggle, the settings menu is chaotic.

Texting and GTalk.
When I had my GS2, I used Go Messenger because there was a holo theme for it that looked way better than the stock MMS app. However, now I use a mix between the stock MMS app on my N4, and Sliding Messaging, if Sliding Messaging wasn’t so buggy I’d use it as my default MMS client.
I wish more people would use GTalk, I hate whatsapp.

On this thread, just below these comments, there is an image of a game, with a message from the dev complaining about an over 90% piracy rate. I challenge you to find anything like that from iOS devs.
Falcon Pro only had 40K downloads, but had to reset its token limit because it reached 100k users, meaning more than half it’s users were pirating the app.
There are so many examples of piracy on Android, and very little on iOS.
Comment
To pirate on iOS you have to be jailbroken and use a specific app off Cydia. To pirate in Android you need Google.
It’s a much bigger problem on Android.

If you’re into rooting, you could install one of the Kernel’s developed by Moles to sort out the screen woes. They’re totally stock, they only change the screen calibration. The Contrasty one is brilliant, makes the screen of the N4 look amazing.
