You don’t seem to understand evolution.. or science.

You are making the common mistake of thinking that it is some kind of trajectory leading onwards and upwards with ever increasing ability and complexity. Evolution is simply things changing, in an entirely unplanned way, to adapt to their environment. You speak about telekinesis and the like as if they are abilities that are just there waiting for our impaired minds to evolve to, but that implies a plan or intention behind our progression which is simply not what evolution is all about, irrespective of the very dubiousness feasibility of these things.

You also miss that one thing that we did evolve is the ability to create tools… technology. You seem to separate our creation and manipulation of technology from our evolutionary development but it is our evolutionary development. If we die out because we spent too long playing the Playstation when we should have been tackling global warming then that is evolution. If we use our technological know how to save us from that same problem then that is also evolution.

We cannot manipulate our evolution, we cannot step outside of nature, we are part of nature and everything we do is part of our evolution, for better or worse. You are ascribing us with some kind of potential to develop fantastical abilities based on a flawed understanding of evolution and natural processes. You know why we managed to thrive in the face of predators, starvation and disease back in the early days? We made weapons, built farms and learned basic hygiene. We did not evolve psychic powers.

I will give you the possibility that our natural instincts to gorge ourselves on high calorie food and seek easy pleasure may, through technology, lead to our downfall: too many pop tarts and TV, not enough meteor defense or disease research. But superpowers are not just waiting for us if only we’d put down the remote.

You’re mixing up an interesting basis for a fantasy novel with a rationally conceived hypothesis with testable predictions. This is the kind of thinking that leads to the likes of Religion or Homeopathy. Occam thinks you need a shave.
