I’m hitting a 404, is it over already?

I just started reading Player of Games as it happens. I read Excession a while back, which was interesting but left me somewhat confused. Most of my friends are quite keen on Banks’ work so I figured I’d try another one.

I use my laptop to play 3D Blu Rays as my player and TV can’t handle them. It needs to run them though a supported media player, so I can either start that directly or start Media Center and then launch the player through that. Everything else gets played via my BR player and TV.

Media Center seems useful enough, but I only tend to start it accidentally as I have a button that launches it. Peeling it off into a separate package seems like a decent idea.

I’m looking forward to the post where he has to find something in a shop.

It’s a good thing they did this instead of coming up with their own cloud storage service. I don’t have enough files to fill all of them.

Nice, I was starting to think Nintendo had started to follow Sony’s lead on releasing things in Europe with the ongoing absence of VVVVVV.

I lost my Wii downloads when my Wii was stolen. Apparently there was nothing they could do to restore them. I stopped using the Wii store after that.

I’ve got a Fujifilm W3, which despite its 3D screen can’t play back 3D video. Presumably it’s a bit of a struggle to get it playing 720p 3D video, but it’s not really been an issue. Looks better when I watch them back on my PC display anyway.
