I returned my G Pro last night. It’s a great phone. Had no specific issues with it. I just realized I don’t want a phone this big and heavy.
Screen is amazing, battery life very good, honestly had no issues with it. My only true minor issues were that you cannot entirely remove the QSlide edit toggle from the notification shade. Also you probably won’t get 4.2 until this fall and then you probably won’t see 4.3 or beyond ever.

Yes I have framed photos that large that I’ve taken with my iPhone 5. Priceless moments sometimes need to be enlarged and valued. 5×7 and 8×10 isn’t going to be large enough at times for me.

I think you are a good writer OP.
Just want to add quickly that the home and volume buttons on the One are really poor IMO because they are too recessed. A button of any kind should stick out a little. Also any home button on a phone with a screen 4.7" or larger should be placed on the side.
I’m weary of that 4 MP camera too. I shoot photos at really important moments with my iPhone 5. Some that I plan on framing one day and hanging on a wall. Not sure that is possible with the One’s camera.

He’s correct. T-Mobile runs on band 4 for LTE. AT&T runs on bands 4 and 17.
Your Skyrocket will only operate on T-Mobile’s LTE if the phone itself is LTE enabled.

I’m going to give up. It ain’t healthy. But the reasons against this phone are BS IMO. The only legit con to date is the lack of stylus.

I was just messing with you. You sound like a paid shill but your post history says otherwise.
4.1.2 is a shame. No doubt. Not a deal breaker but something to note.

It’s going to do well. There is a strong market for phablets. End of story.

Bullshit. I travel to LA, NYC, Boston, and parts in between constantly for work. I’m seeing Note II’s a great deal. Way more than the numbers you are stating.
God you are smug. Phablets are here to stay and the G Pro will only continue the upward trend. It will do very well for AT&T.
The bigger screen is the big feature. It doesn’t need something more. It’s the only IPS phablet in America worth a damn. That’s all it needs to sell.
Yeah, the Engadget review is not the word of God. Their battery tests are absurd too. Continuous video? Please. Go read Phone Scoop’s review regarding battery life and get back to me.
No distinguished feature. Smh.

I think people in general are underestimating the demand for phablets. It’s amazing how many Note II’s I see every week while commuting. Basically the Note II was your only option in America until now. I think the G Pro changes that.
I think the Note II also gets more hype because it’s Samsung. Plain and simple. If the G Pro sells well it will build hype for future LG phones.
The latest Vergecast mobile is all the proof you need. These guys barely seemed to care. I don’t think that will be the case if the G Pro sells well and we see a G Pro II at some point.
Keep in mind too that the original Note was laughed at by many, tech industry included, when it first hit the market.

Every review I’ve read to date has praised the screen. I’m not biased just because I pre-ordered the phone.
Plastic is plastic, no doubt, but again I’ve read several reviews stating this is a ‘better’ plastic than what Samsung uses. Make of that what you may.
The S4/HTC One will sell more because 5" and smaller phones are more appealing to most consumers. Phablets have a strong market but it’s not nearly as large as more one-handed manageable phones.
I think this can compete with the Note II. Making it AT&T-only obviously will restrict it sales somewhat in America. But then again it could reach other American carriers at some point.
It’s not getting the same hype because all things Samsung receive more hype than anything other than Apple. With the success of the Optimus G and Nexus 4 LG’s mobile line is getting a lot more respect and recognition. I remember discussing the 4X HD last summer online and people were like ‘LG is a joke when it comes to phones’. No one is saying that anymore. (Aside from fanboys of other companies and the occasional bad experience LG person.)
You seem overly negative on this device. That’s my opinion of how you feel about it. Obviously you’ll disagree.

Only geeks care about this. And even then it’s a pretty petty point.

Only real reason you listed is lack of stylus. Again, I really don’t think that’s a deal breaker for most consumers.
The G Pro will sell well in America. You’ll see. It’s the only competition the Note II has here and from what I can tell it’s a great phone.

You are so wrong here. A 5.5" screen is a hugely different experience compared to 4.7" or 5".
Not as nice as the One. How do you know that. Because of a lower ppi? Please. It has a 1080p screen. It’s actually better than the One IMO because its almost an inch bigger.
Several reviews have stated the plastic is nicer than what Samsung uses.
This phone is a very big deal. I feel like you are seriously just hating on it. I could not disagree more with you.

The lack of advertising for now is a factor. The name isn’t.

Lack of stylus has nothing to do with the lack of hype over the phone. And it won’t matter to most.

That means nothing. Plenty of phones are discussed to death before being released. I think the G Pro is flying under the radar for now. That will change if it turns out to be a great phone.

It really only is an issue with people who play a lot of games. End of story. SD card is a solution for the other 95%.

I believe it will be HSPA+ only. Phone Arena is reporting that. Makes sense to me.

Okay cool. Thank you. My current post-paid AT&T grandfathered plan is $75 (sans tax and surcharges) a month for 450 mins/1000 texts/2 GB of data. I’d switch for sure even if I have to sacrifice LTE.

Phone Arena is saying it’s limited to HSPA+. I seriously doubt they’ll offer LTE at these prices.

I’m currently a post-paid AT&T customer under contract. Could I potentially switch to one of these plans you think?

The last link is for the Optimus G.
This phone sucked from the start. End of story. It’s not a valid reason to skip LG offerings.
The fact that you took the time to post these links is hilarious.
I won’t be checking this page again. You should seriously get a f*cking life you dork.
