I’m all over this for my living room, if it costs between $120-140.
However, MS points are still limiting this platform, and the amount of money I would spend if they removed this confusing, tedious and arbitrary hurdle.
So as a gamer who goes out his way to purchase content for games to support developers (multiple copies across different platforms) I’m offended by this open-ended requirement to allow always-on to be part of he conversation.
This does not benefit me in any way shape or form. It may impact me very little, but given the reason behind this decision, this tackles a bigger issue than exclusives, price etc. This always on only serves to punishe the paying customer, and quite frankly this opens the door for me to consider my options. Steambox, Sony, maybe I’ll jump back to PC gaming.
I’m happy with my 360, I play ton’s of XBLA so MS with this one requirement is risking more lost business amongst its loyal, educated consumer base. Coupled this with the fact that Kinect is required? So always-on and camera, microphone etc….yeh no thanks.
