You just applied a single statement to 1/3 of the worlds population (2.3 bil) and you were wrong while doing it. Any Christian that doesn’t apply the Bible to their own life is a bad Christian. Westboro Baptists are so far away from true Christianity it is a joke. I am Christian and while I do believe that homosexuality is a sin I struggle with it at my core but I will not look down at a gay or lesbian because in my belief they sin. I am a sinner, so for me to point at a gay man and yell “sinner!” is the ultimate pot calling the kettle black. You are correct by calling them hateful and wrong, they are. But I go to a church of more than 500 that dont act this way, I also am surrounded by churches that I have friends attend and we all don’t think that way. The bottom line is that we are sinners and it is hard to maintain a perfect Christian lifestyle in a fallen world, but any Christian that points out other peoples sins as if they are better than that person is not living a good Christion life.
On this issue as it relates to dead embryo cells (which I know stem cells are not): to a lot of Christians (not all) and as it is stated in the Bible a life is a life at the point of conception, not implantation and not at birth but once the sperm penetrates an egg that is a life and has as many rights as a 50 year old. That is what I believe and many others do to, so aborting a baby or embryo and using the cells to save a life is equal to killing a 18 year old and using their organs to save a life.
