Wait for the Haswell generation of Intel chips, and get a Mac Mini. It’s the most bang for the money, and with the $ you save, you can upgrade to the next generation as well.

Knowing Verizon, it’ll be 36 month contracts, and pre paid plans that cost 20% more than post paid.

Whoops, and an iP5, my daily driver. I have a job where I’m on call, and I’ve completely hosed my Android phones more than once, LOL.
I remember once, I bricked 2 Android phones in a row, and I was on call the next day, god that was a PITA.

I’ve always found it odd how vocal anti Apple people are.
It’s a flipping phone for christ sakes.
I have a Note 2 on TMobile’s $30 plan, it’s a fine phone, but it’s a fundamentally different phone than an iPhone, different philosophy, the whole thing is different, not better.

You aren’t a fan of the “let’s throw it at the wall and see if it sticks” method?
I gotta tell you it’s been pretty successful for Samsung.

I see a really good idea in this, manufacturers could make an AOSP version of their flagship phones, and offer the specific software for specific phones as add ons you could install.

It doesn’t make him wrong.
& yeah, I know he’s an unapologetic troll.
Do I want an OS that behaves like a Star Trek computer or HAL? Hell yeah.
Google stock has been acquired by a large number of hedge funds, now they’ll have to deal with these jackasses demanding all kinds of crazy stuff like Apple has, and they’re going to have their stock price actively manipulated, and these tools make mad $ moving the stock in either direction.
But let’s start Google Island, where Robert Scoble can walk around nude in his Google Glasses

From Gruber:
What major tech giant has Google not pitted itself against? Whose mashed potatoes do they not seek to take? Apple, Microsoft, Yahoo, Oracle, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon — Google has made enemies of all of them. The difference between Google’s predatory rapaciousness today and Microsoft’s of yore is that Microsoft wore it on their sleeve, they owned it, celebrated it.
What rankles about Google is their hypocrisy.

Exactly, I have no problem with what they do, but saying “lets all get along” as they skip a knife in yiur back is BS.
Of course, it’s working for them, and the bastards are richer than god, si I’ll just chew on these sour grapes, LOL.

I dunno, am on board as an investor in Google, but
This kumbaya stuff is crap, Google is hyper competitive, junps into new sectors and kills them.

Lyons admitting what he was doing blew me away. Good riddance.
I actually liked his FSJ stuff, lampooning is funny, click bait hate filled stuff isn’t.

I disagree with the analogy, the home button malfunctioning precludes further repair.
Were it me, I’d have take the thing to someone on craigslist and have the button replaced, it’ll need to be done anyway. Or do it myself, especially if I was a reviewer on cnet… The parts would cost a whopping $10 or so.

One of Apple’s big advantages is being able to write it’s OS specifically to a processor, and it’s superior GPU’s.
I hear so many complaints about the iPad Mini using old hardware, but those people are just looking at specs, not the experience.

Meh, Google has always been sort of crazy with their consumer hardware.
Who knows what in the hell they have in mind?
IIRC, they were going to kill the Nexus line after the first one for a time…

I’ll keep using my iOS and Android stuff.

Amazon has been blowing out used Samsung CB’s for ~$175.
I got one and have been using it for a couple of days, it’s ok, but more like good for a pre teen or grandmother device. Am gifting mine to a friend.
