Agreed after a Latitude d810, xps14, studio xps 8000’, studio 15 and a vostro1500 Dells are awesome if you spend for the good stuff.
The Consumer stuff is built with average to subpar parts because customers have been accustomed to the 300 dolla netbooks and look for laptops in that price range.
You would be surprised how much of a difference there is between a 1400 dollar xps and a 500 dollar inspiron.
Still though, I remember when you could actually choose the parts you wanted inside the systems you bought. from Dell. Now there are just preconfigured skus and nothing else except on the extremely high end precision stuff. Even the servers are coming pre configured…
