Yes… the WP XBox Live service has had cloud saving for a while now. That is exactly how Skulls of the Shogun functions on WP8. Save your game on the phone, pick up on the XBox or Windows 8 tablet/PC (or vice-versa) and continue playing from that exact spot. Other programs can also do this with their settings and client data. This isn’t new…

Yup… and they do that voluntarily from the beginning. Not after being sued by multiple sources over deceptive advertising based on the performance of their products and then adding the “sequences shortened” disclaimer… twice… for two products several years apart. Oh wait…

Apple’s a bad example to use of companies that handle disclaimers properly without getting caught first trying to deceive their customers.

Xbox Music/Video support… they butchered it compared to WP7. No good sync solutions for personally owned media, lack of ability to update media with missing information (rather than overwrite all metadata with inaccuracies from the Xbox Music store), Xbox Video sync/playback doesn’t work at all – when it was advertised as a feature for months leading up to the WP8 launch (and for 2 months afterward). Whoever greenlit the changes and removal of existing solutions should be strung up outside MS headquarters fired as a warning against complete incompetence.

Curious… what is the issue with volume licensing sales and other accounting practices for Windows 8 that did not also occur when reporting Windows 7 100 million sales figures? I agree that it is likely selling a bit worse due to OS usage market share (and the fact that it was drastically discounted for the first 3 months, and is still just keeping up with Windows 7 sales). I’m not aware of any shady accounting practices or volume license deals that wouldn’t have also been done when reporting Windows 7 initial sales though (where volume license deals reported corporate sales as Windows 7, when we all were really installing XP using our downgrade rights). What did I miss?

No, this is not true… I use Windows 8 with a mouse all the time on a non-touch screen gaming system, and you actually can easily forget that it’s not Windows 7. Bring your mouse down to the bottom left corner in desktop mode and click (out of habit), and the new Start screen appears. Bringing up the charms menu is simply a small u-shaped mouse gesture along the right side of the screen that is easier than targeting an X in the upper right corner of a classic desktop window (because it can be much less precise). It actually very quickly become just as natural as Windows 7 UI usage, and then going back feels unnatural. There are many people who disagree with you about the UI design with Windows 8 and a mouse, so this is not an established truth of any sort… you have an opinion.
Despite all the noise from a certain quarter of the online community, most of the people that I know in real life who are using Windows 8 can’t figure out what all the nonsense about the horrid interface with a mouse and keyboard is. It doesn’t exist to any significant degree except in the minds of people that have already decided to dislike it before they try it for a bit. Changing your habits for the new UI takes about 2 days, on average… and then many people start liking the new interface better, including when used with mouse and keyboard. Don’t speak for the rest of us when you’re speaking for your vocal minority subgroup (which, if you include tech site reviewers, is highly skewed toward using MacOS in their everyday computing anyways compared to the general population, rather than Windows systems). A good chunk of those of us that are buying Windows 8 disagree with you.
