I’ve always hated how OS’s boot into the desktop, but then continue to book stuff in the background, and meanwhile you can’t really use the computer yet. It’s stupid that there’s never been a progress bar or anything to show you how long until your computer is actually ready to be used.

From a user experience perspective, the omnibox is fantastic for lay computer users. My parents can’t understand the difference between a URL and performing a web search, no matter how many times I’ve tried to explain it to them. The omnibox fixes this problem because they can do both in the same bar.

I agree. But I need Windows. I suppose I could buy a Windows license and bootcamp it. The total cost would probably be worth it.

What does Android 4.0 look like on a TV at 1920×1080? Does it have the tablet interface? Or does this thing come with a custom skin?

I’ve been looking for a high-end ultrabook, but it seems like every single model has price-cutting compromises that I can’t accept. I really hope someone will actually create a good machine that doesn’t cut corners for a lower price.
