Yeah Yahoo is buying things just because “buying things” is the hip thing to do these days.
That being said Hulu could do a lot worse than Yahoo.

I can because of what I’ve made of my own Facebook account. Most of my Facebook friends are my actual friends, yes, but a large sub-set of them are people I’ve met only once or never even met IRL at all, just from the Facebook commenting sections on some blogs. Furthermore, my Facebook profile is totally unique in what products/services I’ve identified as “Liking,” etc.
The point still stands… any social network is as useful as one tailors it to their own personal desires.

You’re right. Ignore the “mobile” distinction in my previous post. Google makes the majority of web advertising profits as a whole, which is probably one of the bullet point facts being used to initiate this investigation. They’re the iPhone of web advertising – not the largest marketshare, but certainly the largest revenues in the sector, and growing.

while also tying them all together so that your experience with another company will not work right.
It’s called “integration” and Apple is lauded for it, while most in the tech industry actually beg for more of it from Google and Microsoft. What’s at stake is whether Google’s integration is hurting competitor’s products. At this early stage I would guess nothing will come of this, since Google’s integration no more interferes with competitor products than Apple’s or Microsoft’s integration of products and services.

The twitter experience is what you make it. Who you follow who you allow to follow you. It’s a pretty unique experience per person.
This rings true for just about every social network.

They need to finish integrating Google Voice into it before I quit using Google Voice, which lets me text anyone in my contacts list (without them having to install a proprietary app that works on some devices, but not others)…
When they do that, Hangouts will be awesome.

Picking up both phones the S4 feels lighter.
Sometimes for these big-ass phones being lighter is a pro for those that understand how much they hold their phones up.

That’s rather hilarious.
Apple has made all of their fans rely on the “5 million sold in one weekend” soundbite, yet hasn’t released any sales figures since then whatsoever.
I would keep quiet with the “trying to appear bigger than they are” argument.

More lip service from Republicans trying to capitalize on the latest “Obama is horrible” scandal of the week isn’t anything noteworthy. Democrats have been calling for tax reform for a long-ass time before last week.
The difference is that GOP dont want reform to raise tax and Democrats do.
Taxes on middle-class households have gone down under the current Democratic President, but I’m sure this point will just be ignored given the fact that yes, Obama did just call for a payroll tax increase earlier this year.
Taxes on high-income earners did go up though, and as a result the budget deficit that Republicans still swear on their lives Obama is doubling/tripling/infinity-ing is actually going down at the fastest pace since WWII, not to mention the stock market responding accordingly with both the Dow and the S&P setting initial closing records earlier this year and still doing it.
Please … bipartisanship benefits no one.
Thank you for this poignant lesson.

but to force cities to deal with cell towers they don’t want
But most people understand that the wireless service needs of the majority shouldn’t be held up by small cities. Plus, the government already has a bit of a precedent on a strikingly similar issue, which is where the phrase “eminent domain” came from. If we are to accept wireless connectivity and infrastructure as a national priority (as more than a few politicians have suggested we should) this is the way to go.
