More likely, Google doesn’t want Mozilla to create their own search engine for Firefox so they are paying off a potential competitor to not enter their market. It’s really a wasted opportunity for Mozilla.

You don’t think Chrome OS on inexpensive hardware would meet the computing needs of the vast majority non-technical users, without all of the inevitable confusion and hassle they encounter in Windows?
