Also on the last episode.
Dan: You approved a recent The Talk Show t-shirt.
John: I did. I don’t remember that.
Dan: Well yeah, because it’s the same as the other one but were going to do it on black.

The idea here wouldn’t be a copy of windows phone connector but just in the same vein. Hopefully Apple can do a better job making a syncing app for OSX than Microsoft.

I’ve been iTunes free since iOS 5 came out. But there was a time when i did all my music listening in iTunes because it was a good music player and I didn’t like winamp. Now I don’t even bother opening it.

Also I just finished a redesign and would love if people could take some time and let me know what they don’t like about the design or that might need changed.

you wouldn’t manage the actual libraries from the syncing app. just pick and choose what you want to move to the iOS device, just like you do now in iTunes. Again think of it like the windows phone sync app, just for the iPhone.
I’d rather keep iTunes for Music listening and buying and a separate app for syncing. If that’s the right way I don’t know but I like simple apps

Because it’s quicker and easier to open the windows phone sync app and sync a phone than it iTunes and sync a phone. I’m not saying it would be that screen just in it’s own separate app, I said it would be similar to that screen, but overhauled to look and work better.
But you might be right in keeping it all in one app, but either way, its broken as is and needs to be fixed.

As incentive for those users to buy a mac. It’s not really that big of a hassle or inconvenience anyway, use either the web or the actual iOS device, which I’d say 95% of people do anyway.
When testing windows phone I loved the syncing app they made of the Mac. I’d much rather use something like that for my iPhone rather than something like iTunes.

And yes iTunes can manage and sync all your media as it is, but using sucks. I hardly ever open it because of that, especially with iOS 5 since you don’t have to sync with it very often.
Like I said, I’d rather have five apps that do one thing well than one iTunes that does 5 things poorly.
They broke the apps up on iOS devices, I’d like to see the same thing happen on the mac.

How would it sync anything if it didn’t have access to that stuff?
How I see this imaginary iSync app is similar to the interface you have in iTunes now, just it’s own app and cleaned up to look much better.

manually dragging content to a device is syncing….You’re taking files in one place and syncing them to another place.
You want a drag and drop interface for that. That’s fine for power users but not really everyone else. You’re an edge case.

How would they be having to run around all over the place to get anything done. They are mostly media apps. iSync would be the only one used to get something “done”. (syncing)
The running around you would have to do I guess would be when buying stuff, but how often do you buy a bunch of apps, music, movies and books all at once.

The only software that would be needed for windows is iSync.
The rest they can find windows version for. They would have to view the app store either thought the website or their iOS device.

It would be similar like the interface in itunes now when you sync, just in seperate lightweight app.. You can still check off what you want on there., you just point iSync the folder or library with your music in it and it would allow you to choose what you want to sync.

only problem I see with splitting up is having to go multiple places to buy shit, people don’t like that.

People use the iPad as a secondary computer that’s easy to use, friendly and lightweight. Do you think people really use Photoshop and AutoCAD 100 percent of the time?
PC’s and desktops will still always be there, I don’t see myself getting rid of mine anytime soon. But I also have plenty of room in my life for an iPad and don’t see myself getting rid of that either.
