Apple is probably going to release it at WWDC, and end up giving in a little bit to make sure that happens. Meanwhile, google probably already submitted the app, which apple will keep in limbo until they release their service at WWDC.

I don’t get all the hatred for congress. I’m the last one to support much of what they have done, or rather not done. But this is one thing that they should be doing. They are asking questions which many citizens are, or will be, asking. If google provides the right answers, there will be no problem. Let them ask as many questions as they want. If they start trying to act on answers they don’t like even though the law is already established to protect that answer (I.e. the well established right to photograph whatever you want in public), then there might be a cause or concern. But right now they are just asking questions.

As they said, it was a conference for developers. They made a LOT of behind the scenes advances that will greatly help developers out (help the end-users out in the following months). You just got spoiled by what I/O has been in the past.

When Google releases 4.3 (or any update for that matter), you will get 4.3 that day. You don’t have to wait a month+ for hackers to hack your phone and release a ROM with 4.3, which will likely include annoying bugs such as bluetooth not working, or headphone jack not working, or random wifi glitches, etc. Or wait like 5 months for your OEM to upgrade your phone officially.

I prefer to just have smarter set top boxes. My directv box is plugged into the network and I can browse the guide in my phone and simply change a channel by clicking on it, or record it, or just use my phone as a normal remote. That is far more useful to me than just a regular standard remote. Everybody should have their cable companies copy that, not stoop down to IR remotes.

I agree. They aren’t making fun if iPhone users (aka their potential customers that they are supposedly targeting) this time, just highlighting the differences. Nothing wrong with that.

As an iPhone user (and nexus 7 owner), I don’t think it’s that bad. I mean, you could have substituted any phone for the iPhone to show most of their features. Do I think most of those features are gimmicks? Yes. But clearly people are choosing the galaxy series for a reason. Maybe it is just their marketing, but maybe their gimmicky features actually are helping sell their phone, so might as well advertise them.

At the end of the credits, a line popped up: “Tony Stark will return”. Obviously he destroyed everything, but maybe this isn’t the last one?

I’ve seen some negativity around the internet for Iron Man 3. I agree that it wasn’t the best film ever, but it wasn’t a bad movie either. It just didn’t quite live up to the massive expectations. If you are a fan of the comic book, you might be disappointed at a choice or two that the producers made, but to the average moviegoer who has never read the comic book, it’s still an entertaining flick.

Apparently they have run short on the Verizon Wireless logos for the home button and don’t want to release it without it. The good news is that they think they have found a way to infuse the logo into the glass screen so that they might not need it on the button.

I think it’s incredibly important. If you live in an area that gets great T-Mobile 42Mbps service, then great. But most of us don’t. I visited my parents house when I had a Nexus 4. Not only did i not get HSPA+, but the 2G was extremely spotty and dropped out. Did I mention that my parents house has LTE on AT&T and Verizon? To get to my parents house, I drive down I95. You know… one of the busiest interstates in the country. The phone was constantly dropping down to 2G. That is unacceptable to me. If you happen to live in a big city, then you dont have to worry about that, but most of us don’t. And the only way to get fast speeds is through AT&T and Verizon’s LTE.

Good luck convincing the 96% of America that considers gun control a non-important issue that their senators suck because of how they voted in a gun control bill.

In other news, while America continues to bicker about gun control, congress and the White House pass a bill to make it much easier for insider trading to happen on Capitol Hill. Good job fellows! Get people to bicker about that while you pass a bill that just about 0% of the American public would endorse.

Im against a lot of the extreme ideas related to gun control, but I can’t say that I think any of those proposals in the bill were bad ideas. In theory, they make perfect sense.
However, they would not have done a damn thing about Sandy Hook, Columbine, or Aurora. They would have made zero difference. Yet, this bill would have been heralded as a huge step forward in gun control, would have been celebrated, and probably lead to no more near-term changes. So in effect, nothing would have changed other than politicians getting to pat themselves on the backs.
