Ok, let’s see Apple’s side from the story
Ok who’s in the wrong here? The company tried to fix an out-of-warranty device after so many tries to enter DFU mode and not working because the home button wouldn’t work, they offer him a $150 replacement device newer than his device, they even offered him a %10 discount of a brand new device, even after he said the F-word 2 times, maybe more! He was able to get it into DFU mode out of sheer luck. The Genius Bar gave him a enough time trying to fix his device, but it didn’t work.
His stupid story proves how great Apple customer service is.

I bought an iPad Mini, but I still own an iPad 1. I don’t like to resell 1st-gen Apple products, because they have so much history into them, and the original iPad I have is in mint condition.
It was a great device, and I wouldn’t have mind using it fully until it was completely ruined with iOS 5, and slowed everything down. So instead of throwing it away letting the dust eat it, I decided to play with it a bit. I jailbroke it, installed my favorite emulators from the past (MAME, SNES, Sega Genesis, MSX) and bought an iCade game cabinet. For emulators, the iPad 1 still works smoothly with all kinds of ROMs.
Now it sits in my room as a mini arcade cabinet, and my friends get a kick out of it. But for everything else, I use the iPad Mini.

Yes, the Galaxy S4 Google Edition was indeed a last minute call, as described by TheVerge. They just wanted any hardware to put for Google I/O and to get some excitement for the developers and the hardcore community. Most consumers are still going to go for the standard Touchwiz Galaxy S4.
I think Google’s new hardware will be announced in the fall, because the holiday season is a much better buying season than summer, of course.
My speculation is for a Nexus 5, updated Nexus 7, and a Nexus 11. All along with Android 5.0. I think Google wants to be very serious in the hardware game, and if they release 3 new devices with a new OS in the fall, things are going to be very competitive and very exciting.

From what you said, I say get the iPad Mini. If you can wait till October, then go for the iPad Mini 2. Overall, the screen resolution isn’t a big deal with the Mini, and it does everything the big iPad does, but yet you can hold it in one hand.
I had an iPad 3, then got an iPad Min. Yes, I missed the retina screen for a few days, then my eyes got used to the Mini screen. I ended up selling the big iPad because I felt like there is no use for it anymore. It’s just too bulky and too heavy compared to the lightweight Mini.

I like the design of this app. It’s called TextCrafter, and it sort of an advanced version of Notes. You can add unicode symbols, and you can tweet over 140 characters (it’ll split them for you).

I think today’s keynote was proof of how much iOS devices and iOS users are important for Google. Almost every product announcement for Android and Chrome, there had to be a mention for an iOS version. Everything from Google Play games, Google+ Hangouts, Chrome multiplayer, to the new revamped Google Maps, iOS had a role in the keynote.
As much as Google loves to mentions that it has 900 million Android activations, I think they realize how much more data iOS users give them over Android users.
I love that Google is very present on my iPhone and iPad, but today’s keynote was supposed to be solely about Google’s platforms, and they acted like they own iOS! :P

Because it’s only been 7 months since their last major product event. Tech people and Wall Street expect a company like Apple to come up with all new products and new product categories every now and then. It’s just very unrealistic to think that, and that’s mainly the reason why Apple dropped in value.
7 months might be a long time in the tech world, but in the consumer world, it’s still fresh. iPhone and iPad sales are still crazy good, Macbooks and iMac sales are doing well too. Not everyone buys an iPad Mini or an iPhone 5 on day one, and some countries just received those products.
Around this time last year or the year before, we’d usually hear so many rumors and see leaks, but Apple is doing so well on secrecy lately, that we don’t know what they are up to. That’s good for them, because they need to bring the element of surprise back.
Apple still has a lot to offer in 2013. Just wait.

So really, do I need BBM? Not really. Even my friends who have BlackBerry phones or Android, they use the same services. BBM stopped being relevant a long time ago. But I guess I’ll download it, since it’s free.

No more color options? Oh com’on! Nokia made such a huge buzz around how Lumia phones are more “fun” with colors. I liked how they were so colorful.
Yeah, this phone is not needed. Yes, the Lumia 920 is somewhat bulky, but not to the extent to release a new phone with the exact specs but only thinner and lighter.
Meh, nothing impressing to see here. Moving along.

I think that there could be some Apple news in the next day or two, to steal some thunder from Google I/O. Apple does this all the time.
Apple is also well known to leak some info (and sometimes screenshots) for the press. Ahead of iOS 5, we’ve heard so much news about new notification system, a new messaging platform (iMessage), Twitter integration, and very detailed info about “assistant” which came on to be Siri for the iPhone 4S. When it came time for iOS 6, we heard so much info about Apple ditching Google for a new Maps app and saw a screenshot too, and we came on to see some screenshots for the panorama feature in the camera app, and they all came true.
Now, we’re hearing so much info about a new design for iOS 7, and better ways to interact with apps and “glancable” information. I think we might see some leaks of screenshots soon.

Yeah, like Clear and Mailbox. But Carbon for Twitter is Android exclusive for now, and I think it’s pretty neat.

Paper on iOS. No app has yet to come close to the way that Paper works on either iOS or Android.

Check out Thinglist as well. It was featured on TheVerge a few days ago, and it’s iOS exclusive for now, and it’s very unique and useful in its own way.

Of course, there are still thousands of iOS exclusive apps, and things are still very exciting on the App Store.

How about The New Nexus 7? :P
Nah, seriously. I think Nexus 7 (2013) is a good way to go, or perhaps 2nd Generation Nexus 7. I like the idea of Nexus 7+, especially if the screen turns out to be 7.7".

He had me at “real access to file system, and sending data to any iPhone with a few feat of you”
It’s so funny. Apple engineers worked for years and years to develop an OS that didn’t require the user’s access to the file system, and here is a guy claims that the new iOS will have “real” access to the file system. People just over-imagine things. And amongst the other crazy features, this guy is talking non-sense, and it’s a shame that we all are even talking about this.
I almost forgot, it’s feet not feat.

Don’t worry. Most people creating those mock ups are tech geeks who are far from Apple’s customer base. iOS will have a new look, but not completely different to put off the average iOS user. Expect the icons to be flatter, and to have that neon look, similar to that WWDC 2013 logo. Stock apps will mostly function the same, and will probably have a more unified look to them.
I’m much more interested about enhancing the functionality of iOS rather than its looks.

No. Just no.
For one, Apple may flatten the icons, but they’re still going to have rounded corners. Almost 800,000 apps on the App Store have rounded corners for icons, you can’t tell developers to change them now!
Moreover, Apple won’t totally change the UI that much. Millions and millions and millions of customers use iOS devices, it’d be a big risk bringing all that change in one update. Plus, Apple isn’t known to bring so much new features in just one update; they bring a few new features in each edition.
I expect for iOS 7 to have a slightly new look, updates to Apple Maps and Siri, new features for better app communication, and maybe Dashboard for iOS to replace the search screen.
