As the creator states its pronounced JIF, then why the hell didn’t he spell it that way in the first place. I know its an acronym but its like calling GPS (Global Positioning System), JPS or NASAs JPL (Jet Propulsion Lab) GPL.

When I was in the British Army in the early 90s we used to train using mock German towns and villages. These buildings were of brick and concrete construction complete with sewer systems and roads. I remember one village had fully furnished interiors which really showed the trip, fire and hiding hazards in a furnished house. Slugging through half filled sewers pipes is not fun.

The US needs to embrace chips on credit cards like many other First World countries use. With chips on the cards its practically impossible to do what they did. Just copying the data on the strip is useless without the chip data and PIN as well.

Its amazing to me that while you are shouting at each other about security/encryption/hackability etc of iOS and Android, noone has thought that this is why some people still use BlackBerries specifically for there security. I believe a BB has only once been hacked and that was without encryption or a password on the phone at Pwn2Own 11.

It is true the UK has a much smaller landmass but even if it took US farmers and the USDA 15 years to RFID tag and track every animal from birth to death it would be worth it in the long run.

The “thing” is a standard wind sock used to show the strength and direction of the wind on airfields. It is just a tube of material. Yes it does look like a leg in the picture.
