i think it needs 2 things.
1- deliver updates in IOS fashion, if an update is released, all users should be able to download it in day 1 !
2- specially when it comes to games, it doesnt need ports, but kickass original ones
3- a strong tie into windows 8 ! right now the advantages of having wp over iphone or driod are 0 when it comes to integration
