I didn’t say the phone won’t sell well, because it will, and it’s certainly not going to fail in any business sense. I personally dislike the phone and a lot of other people do, too. This is the heart of debate.

Oh, also, Vlad DID mention Smart Stay in his article and how it’s kind of cool. It does NOT save this phone.

There are a lot of points that I would call wrong in this article.
I will only say one: the difference between the iPhone 4S launch is that at the time, Apple had the best smartphone design in the industry. Not changing it was okay because it still looked beautiful. With the Galaxy S III, Samsung took a pretty good looking device (the gsii) and they removed reason, care, and common sense from the design. Claiming that people don’t like the design because it’s “new” and “different” (very slightly) is a ridiculous copout. “You people just don’t get it”, you say. Nobody will ever look back on the GSIII and say “man, what a great looking device” like they will with the iPhone 4/S.
Samsung failed to differentiate their customers from “the sheep” with this, and pretending they did (and inferring that WE are the sheep for not understanding how great the design is) is just childish.
