This isn’t true. There was a lot of back and forth about this, but the UI thread priority stuff was written by some intern who posted it on google+. He was corrected later on. In any case, Android is very much moving towards the iOS way of rendering. Keeping a cache and rendering by tiles instead of showing the whole page at once. This is for fluidity’s sake, so that 60FPS UI is something that Google considers important and is shooting for.
