Yup, my research group is absolutely full of Macs. Note stuff like the Homebrew/science set of packages. In my office, it’s three Mac users, one Linux, one Windows. One of the Mac users is in GQ Magazine’s list of the most influential men in Britain.
Reminds me of the people who were furious that Apple patched iOS and it stopped a remote jailbreak website (I think it was jailbreak.me ?) working, and that it amounted to an evil Apple crackdown on jailbreaking.
They seemed much less angry when reminded that as well as being used to jailbreak your phone, the same exploit could be used by any website to remotely pwn your phone.
If the unkill the Start Menu I’ll consider installing it. So far it’s literally worthless to me; I could get Windows 8 for free at any time through my University’s Premium Dreamspark deal.
