A warning at the top of the long-form articles would be nice. That way I don’t start reading them on the bus home and almost miss my stop.

Yep. I was hoping for it to be more of a contest, and I’m still going to wait for the review, but it looks like it’s going to be a One X for me.

Go Unit 1! Unit 3 looks like a gigantic mass of aging concrete, Slottman and Christian make Unit 1 look really nice.
Also, housing policy does state that “if it glows, it goes”, and specifically outlaws holiday lights and strobe lights, if I’m not mistaken. There’s a large sign to this effect at the entrance to Slottman, at least.

I’m not saying you’re lying. I’m just pointing out that this isn’t the experience that I’ve had. It’s probable that if I went out a copy of Heavy Rain, I’d have to sit through the installing just like you.

This isn’t the experience I’ve had playing on my PS3 at all. I’ve played through Killzone, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted (all 3), and logged many an hour in Wipeout HD, and I’ve never had to wait so long to start playing a game like you’ve described. I’ve never had to install any game if I was playing from a disc.
In short, I think the PS3 experience varies wildly from game to game. I do agree that PC gaming is a better experience.

This is essentially going to be the equivalent of a column. The Verge is really growing up and turning into a real journalistic force. Props.
