I have a Google TV first gen (Sony) and I’m very happy with it. Not sure what people are expecting. I started my free trial for Google play music all access, the play music app on the TV got updated and now I can access all the music on my TV.
Of course Youtube works amazingly well.
The only thing I’d like to see is the integration of Google Now with voice control. Unfortunately this will probably not be available for first gen devices.
FYI, Soiree (soirée) means evening in French and is also used to call a party or reception held in the evening. So it cannot apply to google I/O as a whole.
Perhaps you could put an announcement on the verge so that everybody doesn’t spend 5 min trying to figure out that there is a problem.
