Crowdfunding is probably the industrial revolution of our time. Its amazing the amount of success homegrown projects have been able to acquire, with both hard and soft products.

The setup also requires an approved simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi router to function well
Damn thats a lot of bandwidth they are asking for, I wonder if running the game streaming would starve out your local Wifi’s bandwidth at all.

Except 99% of the people that have tried it say that its way better than they ever expected. They have proven that the technology is worthy of its cost, the industry is clearly willing to adapt it into their games, and the customer is clearly interested in what is offered.

League is pretty insane, 5 million concurrent players (as of march 2013). In October they reported 3 million concurrent, 32 million active ‘subscribers’ (its free to play like dota2). I don’t think Dota will be able to touch that even out of beta, the game is just too intricate and less appealing to the super-casual players that league has in hoards.

The key is whether they will launch Haswell fast enough or not. Sony is always lagging behind on specs, It will be sad if they revamp Vaio with the outdated Ivy bridges.

Intel is the only entity that can … they have the most crucial component, fab facilities. While everyone eats up TSMC’s supply of 28nm die, Intel is struggling to fill up their fabs with enough 22nm demand. It just takes time to come up with good SoCs, but Silvermont looks very promising. Not only are they hitting some very good power numbers, their performance is far above and beyond ARM.

Because carbon is the most compatible element we know of, and the 4th most abundant in the universe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abundance_of_the_chemical_elements . Survival requires complexity, and complexity requires building blocks that are simple and flexible, capable of providing structure to those that are complex and inflexible. It follows logic that carbon is the most likely building block for life forms.
To that end though, silicon, the second most compatible element is believed to be capable of supporting life as well.

They mention gaming but the advantages of on chip gpu go far beyond that. Mobile computing needs the powers and space saving this technology brings. The added performance is also good enough to make things like the retina 13" not lag in every day use.

Would be nice if you did some of your own research, reading just the headlines of his articles here gives a better idea of who this guy is than the random snippets you mention http://www.core-capital.com/toms_articles.aspx
In my opinion he seems to have a good balance of opening up public networks to competition while maintaining the influence of service providers (like Google). He is a fan of network neutrality too.

It was pretty unofficial and from the directors/writers, nothing from HBO (studios usually being the driving force and conveyors for copyright enforcement). Although I haven’t really heard of HBO being hard on copyright enforcing, seems like they are content with how much money they are making.

Its not just to make self-repair easier, it also reduces the cost of support and warranty requests. I am not going to fault Samsung for trying to make the most money with optimal material and service costs, but lets not think they are doing this just for the benefit of the customer’s experience.

Honestly, today the idea of building an extraterrestrial colony sounds far more appealing, for a non-scientific audience, than the possibilities of scientific discoveries and exploration, and the mundane quest for finding life by drilling into rocks or ice beds.
