Animation by Polygon Pictures Japan. Sold. Story is quite good actually, as are the characters. I will definitely be watching this whole series.

This is good, but I think NASA could get whoever they want to help endorse what they know is right and they probably wouldn’t even need to pay for it. Like “The Splurge” mentioned, it’s pretty nice. Get the help from a wold full of people that fully back your ideas and make content unforgetable.
Fully developed documentaries for every mission that would have public interest. Even if it is just 1 every few years. Get something for people to see in the theaters where it belongs. Look at things like Planet Earth. Have Dr. Tyson team up with people like Brian Cox and hit me with some sweet sweet universe.

Step 3. Pay me

Depending on how much you pay, you are required to give back in bandwidth by uploading the book to other downloaders. So if you pay nothing you are simply required to upload a certain amount (using a simple bit of software, similar to online backup apps, Backblaze, etc. simple menubar application) to other users to offset the bandwidth costs of the publisher. You get full access to the content immediately, but the next time you make a purchase, if you haven’t uploaded your specific amount, you aren’t offered the “pay what you can” option, or your minimum price is set higher.
Not sure if the bandwidth costs really add up to much. But giving the users who can’t afford to pay the full cost a way to “pay back” adds appeal to the whole process. It also appeals to people who are already filesharing because that is basically how the game works. Bandwidth becomes the new currency.
Can you imagine if iTunes gave an option using their Match service to upload the tracks in your library across the entire user base using your own home connection? As you uploaded more and more your account was credited and you were allow to purchase more for “free”. When you download a track bits and bytes of it are coming from other users systems. Set a cap on the amount that can be uploaded so nobody takes advantage of the system, use your own servers as the main hub to provide quick download speeds, and simply use the home connections as a way to slowly offset the bandwidth costs.
Your main download server is a gasoline engine, the extra upload helps trickling in is the electric motor assist.

One interesting solution would be offering a “Pay what you can” solution to anyone with a “.edu” email address and see how it balances out. On one hand you may end up with customers that would have paid the full asking price and now decide to pay nothing, but you also will have people who would have not paid anything now making a payment where they wouldn’t have otherwise, and you have a huge marketing advantage, and probably even just simple word of mouth marketing.
Only offer it on digital copies since it doesn’t require physical production, and see what happens.

This is so much more accurate I think. I don’t know why they would use average “connection” speed instead of peak connection speed. I would guess Akamai also figures mobile broadband into the average as well? Stupid. Stupid Stupid.
