I don’t give a damn what men find attractive. It’s unfortunate what we find pleasing to the touch and pleasing to the eye is seldom the same.

From the DF bit, it’s not using a private API, but it is using a public API in a non-sanctioned manner. Adhering to the letter but not the spirit I suppose. Seems awfully pedantic, but I guess we shouldn’t be surprised :P.

This is a setting you can turn on/off in iTunes. On a Mac, you might as well leave it on as iTunes is your main media hub and organizes it according to how the Mac is going to do things anyway.

(Nearly) the entire AT&T network is upgraded to HSPA+. If you’re not in an enhanced backhaul area, you won’t benefit from the speeds, but the technology rollout is complete or next-to.

Sure, for long form typing. This is where Metro is really nice. It’s actually well suited for a trackpad, since it has much larger icons to mouse to. A dock for a Win8 tablet with a small trackpad or nipple-mouse will be very nice. The iPad falls short as a desktop/laptop replacement for long-form computing, but it’s also not designed to do that.

The phone is HSPA+ capable for UMTS, and as such shows 4G. When you’re on real 4G (LTE), it will show 4GLTE.
Want to point fingers? Start with T-Mobile, who pioneered the whole “HSPA+ is 4G” thing. Then the ITU changed their stance. Then AT&T started to market HSPA+ as 4G. Which is still bullshit, and very confusing to customers. 3.5G would have been fine.

Honestly, I’d use it more if I’d remember before I start to do it manually. I’ve been trained to do it by hand. I imagine a novice smartphone user would get more mileage out of her.

Dan Hesse, the CEO of Sprint, is on record stating that the number one reason for people leaving Sprint is (was I guess) the lack of the iPhone.

iPhones are usually worth quite a bit more than $100 on trade in through various online places, never mind what you can get on Craigslist. While it’s nit to be able to do it at a carrier store, it’s a ripoff from a monetary standpoint.

Sprint was losing customers hand over fist. Number one reason? No iPhone. It might not be for YOU, but iOS devices occupy the top 3 best selling smartphone slots in the US. It would have been very very stupid not to carry it.

Wallpapers like that made for iOS devices are made to be a specific size so the icons line up with the diagrams. So yes, you can google the image and hit “set as wallpaper,” but it’ll look shitty.

I have Activator set to bring up the dock with an upward swipe, and I have much more trouble getting it to take than I do having it go off accidently. I imagine Zephyr is a better solution, but I’ve not tried it.

If I didn’t have a free company phone, and T-Mo got good service in my area, I’d be with them. I like the small minute plans with data service, and the fact that I can buy an unsubsidized handset with a cheaper bill. Great for people who aren’t ever really satisfied with phones.

The very next step will have something to do with power consumption, since it’s a major component of battery drain. Apple has some interesting patents about area specific multi-level haptic stuff, which I’m sure they’d implement in some manner that’s perfectly obvious in hindsight but no one would expect before it launches.
