I didn’t see any locking tab anywhere. I sincerely hope the style police didn’t veto that in name of design. At that size (and obvious expense) this is going to be a snatch and run target, especially since you can yank all the cables in one swipe. I also hope the new OS has a “Find My Mac” feature.
The largest part of this problem is LOTS of crappy patents more than trolls. The patent office has to stop the attitude whereby they issue everything and let the courts sort it out. Killing software patents would be a good start.
I’m a bit nervous about legislation that tries to decide who can sue and who can’t (aka trolls). I bet that has unintended/bad consequences.
Absolutely. Having content control hardware decisions really ruined Sony. Remember when Sony was the champion of fair use in the Betamax litigation? Sony the Movie company is an entirely different animal today. One of the reasons all the anti-consumer piracy legislation today is so one-sided is because there are no large companies on consumers’ side. This split up would be the best thing for Sony and Consumers.
