A company go to the exchange when it needs money. You buy its share because you trust in the future of the company and the company rewards you for that. That is the initial purpose of the exchange.

You don’t understand the stock market. The only time purchasing shares helps a company is during it’s IPO. If you go to the stock market and buy AAPL stock today, you are not helping AAPL, you are buying it from someone else who already owns the stock and is looking to sell it. Idiot.
