105’’ screen, 10 feet (3m) from the comfortable butt-kicker infused couch engulfed with 7.1 surround. Top that with an ice cold beer and the snacks of my choice, not to forget the absence of people who don’t understand the concept of “SCHHH!”.
-Frak the cinema, I’m staying in my living room.
And there’s always the option of inviting FRIENDS when you feel like a social event.

No, that’s what I’m trying to say, in Sweden at least, we can sync to mobile device and then use it offline if we so wish, anywhere in the world. -for about a month, then you need your wifi again.

I actually do have friends on G+ but only ones who work at a start-up. And most of them only uses it for internal office communication ‘cause yammer is buggy.
all of them also have facebook and that’s where they share private stuff. (private as in internet-private)
yet these guys are about 1/20th of the all my facebook friends.

What kind of exposure do you mean? I feel like G+ is more exposing than Facebook. On Facebook I can choose who sees what and what other sites on the net I want to integrate with it.
But with G+ I suddenly had my private avatar in my work-gmail due to an automatic login on youtube on one chrometab. And then my contacts apparently synced when using two gmail accounts on one browser, and then my bookmarks and settings changed because chrome thought my private mail was more important since it was using G+. ugh. Googles new vision that technology should get out of your way is idiotic, get it into my way instead and let me take control.

I think you’re right, eventually we will see someone making a far better experience than Facebook, but users only move when there’s a good reason, and by their own will, like the move from MySpace and hi5 to Facebook.
I for one can’t stand G+, not because I think it’s terrible, simply because Google are trying to push me through the door and I don’t want to be pushed, so, I push back.
This is where Facebook got their success, they ASKED for their users, they got the people to see the greatness in tagging photos with your loved ones and share them.
They never forced anyone to use Facebook, but doing so made it feel welcoming, friendly even. Google on the other hand feels like a terrifying bully that tries it’s best to make my life miserable if I don’t share all my YouTube, gmail, chrome and chat-data with their unified database and the world. It feels like they are squeezing the last drops of data-juice out of their products, the users.
I want to be able to browse through YouTube or read my mail anonymously. I want to be able to separate my work from my private life.
I don’t want to have ONE eco system, I want the diversity of freedom of choice wich is the fundamental cornerstone of the internet.
And yes, I do understand that I use YouTube and chrome and gmail for free and google can do whatever they want with their products. I’m just saying my thoughts as an ad-revenue product / customer counts and I don’t like being bullied. I think google should let Facebook have their thing and focus on invention, which they are very good at.

Again, this might be a territorial issue, in Sweden, we do have sync-from-own-library-option in Spotify.

Well, here in Sweden you can add as many files from your own library as you’d like and sync with a mobile device, they stay synced for some weeks until you have to sync again, over wifi.
Maybe this is not an option elsewhere but here it works great! I have lots of my old library synced and listen to it all the time, integrated seamlessly into my playlist with spotify-songs.
And yes, spotify does have offline mode.

Sigh.
“Use the Simple Past to express the idea that an action started and finished at a specific time in the past. Sometimes, the speaker may not actually mention the specific time, but they do have one specific time in mind.
“Used to” expresses the idea that something was an old habit that stopped in the past. It indicates that something was often repeated in the past, but it is not usually done now.
“Used to” can also be used to talk about past facts or generalizations which are no longer true."
maybe we both are terrible at English.:)

Simply because a method is widely used doesn’t make it ethical.

Well, could it be that this article simply isn’t newsworthy?

actually no.
“thought” means someone did think something at one point in history and could still be thinking it.
“used to think” means someone did think something a one point in history but has changed their mind and stoped thinking it.
