It’s not from the market. So doesn’t show up there… And I’m not getting any prompt in the app

Running it on a gsm galaxy nexus. How do I get the update? Flipping back up pages doesn’t work at all…

Have to agree with you – the new app is light years ahead of the poor excuse that is in the play store at the moment. The old one barely worked on my galaxy nexus but the new app is one of the slickest on my phone, period. I’ve noticed a couple of very minor bugs, but this is a beta afterall (just being able to download a beta in the first place is novel after having an iphone) and the new artist pages (with the swipe to the biography and related artist sections) make me forget those in an instant.

The app is much better than the iphone app as well (I’ve used both, and my iphone-owning housemate was annoyed to see that it was android only). It’s good to see that £10 premium subscription actually going towards something…
