I have a Nexus 4. It’s not like I had to sacrifice a goat to get one. It’s a choice I made that was available to me because I care about timely updates. As for previous Nexus devices I’m fairly certain the GSM Galaxy Nexus got it’s Jelly Bean update about 3 months after the Nexus 4 came out. That’s not terrible and usually it’s under 2 months.

They just spent 1.1 billion dollars. How’s your math holding up? I’m not saying they don’t make ANY money, I’m saying large gains on the order of their competition will mean they’ve made a turnaround.

What exactly do you use regular expression for? Every time I’ve used regular expression it was to associate some sort of action with a pattern. So what I’m presenting to you is “necessity is the mother of invention.” The question you’re not asking is why does regular expression exist. It’s to detect a pattern efficiently, and take action based on that pattern. Or at least that’s how it’s been used in all the lines of code I’ve read(GUI based and otherwise). So Apple watered down the “implementation part” and specified the “action part” and they get a patent for it? As for HTC getting rolled in court, I’m pretty sure that’s all HTC does in court.

You’re not only advocating using poorly maintained drivers and a touch screen OS on a computer without a touch screen. I just want to point that out. If you’re going to go this route why not recommend parallels?

Er…I’m guessing profit will actually signal the turnaround, not spending money like it’s going out of style.

I own an Android phone and I’ll probably be getting this within the month, so I’m not sure why you’re using a blanket statement.

You mean the “regular expression” patent. It’s an obvious patent, regular expressions are used to take classify patterns of text, in programming you usually classify something so you can decide what action to take on it. I don’t even know how they got a patent for this, well actually I do, a computer science major probably didn’t look at it before they granted it. Regular expressions have been around since the 1950s. It’s bound to get invalidated.
