^This for sure. I found it puzzling that Anand and the others in the HTC One podcast can, on one hand dismiss the need for a removable battery, but on the other hand, they make the prediction (and rightfully so) that we may soon be buying our phones like we buy our computers… that is, we will just be buying them unlocked at full price. If thats the case, who the hell wants a phone that is essentially a brick after 2 years because you can’t remove the battery? With a higher upfront cost to the consumer, we will most likely start keeping our phones longer, just like we keep our computers longer.
