Instead of going retina why wouldn’t just put a 1080p screen in it and have beet of both worlds that resolution is killing it for me. To have a computer in 2013 with that display is a turnoff they could of bumped it up a little and it would be a lot more appealing

I would be more interested in voice controls than jumping around my living room. For example in call of duty instead if pressing a button to command the tram you can just yell out a command. I find that way more useful than motion. I mean look at the Wii it was cool but quickly became more of a pain than anything. Yes I know the kinect is more advanced but motion gaming is still not that great in use. Natural conversation like I said would be way more useful at least to me.

Do you know how to read? Did I not explain what happened with the WiFi data collection? Should it of happened? No…did Google get in trouble? Yes. If you read the story you would understand what took place but you decide to be misinformed.

You keep flip flopping. One minute you want to know what Google does with the data the next you bring up the WiFi debacle which I just explained. Listen go read googles privacy policy then go read what actually happened with the WiFi data collection then come have a reasonable discussion. You going back and forth is trolling. You make zero sense I explained both instances and come back with nothing which is a sign you’re talking out of your ass.

The key issue, as has been pointed out repeatedly, is that most people arguing nefarious intent don’t seem to understand what Google was actually doing. It was trying to map the location of WiFi base-stations, a perfectly legal activity that a small group of companies have been doing for years. But in order to best figure out the location of the networks, it’s helpful to have as much data as possible that traversing over the access point. The system doesn’t care or need to know what that data is, it just wants as much data as possible for the purpose of triangulating. The problem was that Google’s system “kept” the data that it got, even though there’s been no evidence presented that the the data was ever used for anything (a key point that those screaming “criminal intent” repeatedly gloss over). On top of that, no one even explains why Google would want such data. The little snippets would be so random it’s difficult to come up with any reason why keeping such data would be useful.

What answer do you want? If you use Google services they collect data anonymously. It’s the same for every major corporation. If you don’t like it then you don’t use it. Google can’t collect info on services you don’t use unlike the govt supposedly where that doesn’t matter it can collect on anything. I’m not sure what you’re trying to get at? That Google collects data well no shit so does apple, Microsoft and any other online service.

So everyone else that reviews a windows phone on this site gives them an average of 7.0 but when proclaimed Microsoft fan tom warren reviews a windows phone its suddenly a 8.1? Just two weeks ago Chris zeigler reviewed a wp and gave it what a 7.2 or something. How in a couple weeks time does the score go up that much on basically the same phone?

If anyone honestly believes that Microsoft thought at the start their Xbox would be a 100 dollars more than the PS their sadly mistaken. Microsoft thought the prices would be the same son stop acting like the kinect was the reasoning for this because it wasn’t. I also think PlayStation did a great job at going after the gaming market while also throwing shots at Microsoft in reference ton used games and DRM. Sony needed to kill it and they did.

True but both of you are probably more of a power user where these settings would be nice and accessible but for regular customers it might be a little much there’s a lot going on in that single panel, around 20 settings

You can’t look at control center and actually think that is good design? Its a mess and those icons are pretty bad. Its just a lot buttons and options crammed into a little space.

I know everyone has different opinions but I have no clue how you can pick up the one for the first time and no be impressed. The screen and speakers alone are awesome. I went to play with it at the local store and it is a beauty granted I have the galaxy nexus which any phone would make it look superior but the one is fast, well built, and those damn speaker!!! I will say the buttons def are different but I see no problem with the device it feels and works very nicely

I agree with the premise but will add that going forward it will be hard for Microsoft to implement any kind of ui change in the future. Basically this design language is what you will have forever because of the text heavy nature of the ui and how limiting tiles are
