I’ve had an RX100 since December and I love it! Stellar low-light performance and all around really good image quality. Great auto as well as full creative control when you want it. The only I find myself missing (sometimes) is an EVF and a little more zoom.
If a small upgrade is worth it for you, only you can decide but as far as the camera goes it’s an excellent choice. -

Wouldn’t handheld NIR instruments be more useful?
That way you get a profile from the actual contents, not just the packaging.
Don’t get me wrong – any measure to fight counterfeit drugs is good.
