Who said Facebook IPO was a dud. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I am sure Zuck has a lot for the law enforcement.

Totally agree. Folks talk about their stuff stolen don not talk about their careless.
She said it was “stolen”. But was she careless to leave it somewhere thus enabling it to be stolen ? May be.
I once has a iPod Touch found in a rental car. I called in to inquire if the previous customer who rented the car lost anything. The rental car guy on the phone asked me why. I said I have iPod touch . Turns out it was not from a rental customer but from the girl friend of other guy who works at the rental car location. I asked them to identify it by telling the songs, albums . They did identify and I returned it. Then I asked them why did not they call me to inquire about the iPod Touch ? The thought that it was gone and did not expect it to be left in the rental car. Carelessness.

Google Search,Email, Youtube and Maps still rule. The rest are hit and miss. Here is how the competition is
Microsoft Bing is forever behind. Actually Bing is the biggest failure for Microsoft. They are fighting hard on Mobile. Office software is getting good competition from openoffice
Apple has few products that are vulnerable to competition in couple of year.
Amazon store/books makes money. The rest i.e the Fire, Music, Video … will die their own death.
ORACLE is milking Corporate. The time will come when there is a comparable open database for small / mid business.
Now think about the Google lab projects like Glasses, Self Driving car.
Clearly they know what they are doing or they have too many things in the works. They know how to bet long term.

Sprint’s lack of the iPhone was the "number-one reason people leave" Sprint.
The keyword “was”. It happened already. Customers left sprint in millions since 2007. My point was iPhone will satisfy some of the remaining customers, however committing to buy 30 million iPhones in the next four years is a blunder. The only ray of hope for sprint is the “unlimited data” option.
We will see how this will play out. I want this to work for them but I am not optimistic. I would rather want them to use an escape clause and modify the contract with Apple.

Brilliant Idea i.e. selling the trade-in iPhones. Now the question is they need a million and half of the existing customers of ATT and Verizon for each quarter to jump the ship to Sprint. Tough one.

Are you implying that there are folks who stayed with sprint for a good 4 years till the iPhone was available in 2011 ? I don’t think so. The folks who wanted iPhone already left Sprint. The remaining folks stayed only because of cheap and unlimited plans.

Shelling another $ 100.00 on a bad deal makes it the worse deal. Now they have to pray and hope they get new customers from ATT/Verizon. What are the chances of that happening ? We will know by next quarter.

Are you sure it is working ? Its been more than six months and all i see is small incremental gain of new accounts, which was not worth the 15 billions. The main issue is iPhone customers are married to either ATT or Verizon for various reasons. Verizon gives the best coverage. With ATT, you can talk and browse and most of them have grand fathered data plans with rollover. The best iPhone is doing is to retain existing customers. With 15 billions Sprint could have built the LTE faster.

Wow lots of Sprint fans here. I was a long time customer and still a stock holder with a long term positions > 4 years. Tell me about the two deals they have done Nextel and iPhone. I have enough patience to listen.

Sprint is bad here in DC. If you compare national coverage Sprint’s network is weaker than ATT.

This tells me that the decision to buy iPhone is worst ever on par with Nextel deal.
With Apple cranking out new devices every year, Sprint will be forced to clear the inventory. The result will be more losses than they expected on the iPhone deal. I sincerely hope they get more customers and stay solvent.

That’s “Present” not Future.
Besides for the first time since 2007 other manufactures are matching or beating Apple on overall smartphone experience. It was no longer about quad core processors or having 5 inch screens. HTC, Samsung and Nokia are making compelling phones that have good screen, great build and better optics.
