No, thats only if you plan to use it on the Xbox, like any other 3rd party service on Xbox. Source: My sisters has an Xbox music pass, and she doesn’t even know what gold is.

They wouldn’t commit suicide themselves to get a competitor out of the business.. If anything they would just only ship Android.

I’m hoping (and am almost certain) that this is prototype casing, a tactic widely used by manufactuerers to hide the finished identity in case of leaks.

I like the idea of the partially exposed action bar. A lot more intuitive and I feel like that should be standard on all apps that carry an action bar, kind of like Windows Phone, even if its just three dots and nothing else, just a GUI que to show something is there.

I know this is picking, but that was 83 WPM and he is definitely a rare-case. I’m sure there are a lot more people that can go 90+ WPM on a keyboard than there are people that can go even 70+ WPM on a touch screen. Also take into account that typing with two thumbs on a smaller touch screen is much easier than typing with all 10 fingers on a tablet sized touchscreen.

My need for a Surface Pro 2 will be a good note taking device for the upcoming school year. OneNote + Stylus = note taking heaven.

A painful browsing experience sounds like something that would be tied to Android. I use both an iPad 3 and Surface RT (iPad at work, RT at home). Both browsing experiences are completely fluid and breeze to use. As for writing text, I’ve only played with a Pro once, but the stylus was VERY nice. I’m hoping the Haswell machines coming out at the end of the year will be a little better priced. I’ve already seen an Aspire V5 Touch at my local store for just $550, which is a nice sign.

I like how people keep complaining about how its just licenses when their are several things that make it a null point. A) OEMs wouldn’t have purchased 40 more million bulk licenses from the 60 million point if they were just sitting on them. B) its the same damn metric they’ve used for every Windows. If you think you don’t like Windows, then that means no one will buy it, then your closed-minded.

No. What would be confusing is to have a user who just got used to Windows 8’s new start screen have it taken away in an update. Especially for users with touch screen notebooks.

After watching my sister by a touch notebook for just 550 the other day, and seeing her express nothing but love towards it, I’m confident that with the right hardware Windows 8 and its future revisions can be successful.

Any product number ever is shipped. The whole how many are in hands is just a lame stretch haters reach for. Fact of the matter is they wouldn’t be pulling steady shipments if they weren’t selling.

Only an Apple fan would talk about options like they are a bad thing..
Office is the best productivity suite.
USB ports offer the widest hardware options.
You most certainly need a keyboard to write code or an essay.
People who need to take notes, students, businessmen, would disagree with you about the pen and they are not a minority.
As for printing, would you want the bare minimum number of printer options, or every printer available, its not a hard question to answer..
Your last statement shows you have no experience with the surface, so why judge it?

You don’t seem to understand how drivers work. They are installed when the device is detected so they certainly don’t bog the system down.
They are there because options are only a good thing. There’s no way you can spin that.

Yes, its shipped, but if the previous q4 shipment numbers from IDC are true at 1.4m why would they have shipped more if they didn’t sell?
And considering most of the Surfaces are bought directly from the MS store online, then those shipments relate directly to sales.
