Breaking: Samsung Galaxy S III review
Let your Microsoft flag fly

Interestingly, at the time Microsoft had to choose between an MP3 player and a more consumer-focused phone. They chose MP3 player because Apple had taken that market. There were many inside Microsoft who were really trying hard to get the company to make a consumer smartphone and were insisting it was too late to enter the PMP market.
Then, a couple of years later the iPhone came out.
p.s. do you have any idea how stupid it makes you look to write ‘M$’? And it’s also kind of ironic when you do it in a post that complements Apple.

You don’t need Zune for Windows Phone besides updates really. And you can get your media from elsewhere if you want (i.e. phone apps and Zune Pass over-the-air).

Why is this an issue? Zune software is fantastic. For the phone you don’t really need Zune except for updates unless you’re syncing media. You make it sound as if Microsoft is forcing something unnecessary on users. The software is simply there to get certain data onto your device. iOS uses iTunes in the same way. At least Zune is quality software.
FWIW, it’s almost a given that the Zune software will be retired in Windows 8, which is a shame.
