the Retina Display, yeah it’s pretty, but i got bored of it after about 10 minutes
Really? I don’t know much about displays. I do know that after I saw the display on an iPhone 4 I could not help but be bothered by older displays (i.e. iPhone 3GS).
the camera, yup the 4S has a pretty good camera, IMHO the Galaxy S II (and from shots from the device, Also the S III) have better ones, but the process of getting the photos off your iPhone and onto the computer is just so laborious and over complicated.
The camera on my iPhone 4S is outstanding. So much so that I have no need to get a point-and-shoot. (I do however want the Sony Nex-C3.) It’s incredibly easy for me to get the photos off of the iPhone, but that’s probably because I use PhotoStream and have a Mac. I literally only have to open iPhoto and my photos are there. That’s it. I’m not sure if similar functionality is available with Windows, however theres always the option to use Dropbox Sync for pretty much any OS.
i had the iPhone 4S crash on me quite a few times, apps just closing down, apps hanging ,and they werent even 3rd party apps, the youtube app crashed on me and so did the messaging app
I have had apps hang or crash, but certainly not on a weekly basis. Maybe you had a faulty device? That sucks! It’s super easy to get it fixed if you live near an Apple Store.
Other points:
Siri is great. I use it quite often for sending messages while driving in the car and I find the Yelp integration super helpful for finding places to eat (I work/travel a lot). I can definitely understand that it isn’t for everyone though. IMHO, it isn’t a reason to purchase it, as much as a nice perk to have available.
iTunes integration is also bloody amazing – but again, probably not for everyone. All of my music is synced automatically. I mostly use iTunes to purchase new music, but when I buy from somewhere else it still syncs everyone because I subscribe to iTunes Match. The ease of buying and renting movies could be better, but it seems like they have been working on that since the introduction of iCloud.
Overall, while most of your points make me raise an eyebrow, I can see why people wouldn’t care about some of these features. To each his own! But I’d never think twice about recommending an iOS device to a friend.
