Blatantly false statement. Do some research.

1. Get elected to congress
2. Present this in bill form
3. Watch your ass get outspent the next election cycle and be voted out of office

First of all- Who cares what the breakdown was? Everyone is a citizen.
Second- That definitely was not the ratio. It MAYBE was 20% homeless, who tend to congregate in Dilworth Plaza anyway (obviously not now b/c of construction).
Also, your use of hipster with a somewhat negative connotation is really lame. Just because someone likes something different doesn’t mean they are less of a person than you. Plus I bet some of the things you are in to now were made popular by “hipsters”.
Some people just don’t like not being on the leading edge of art and culture, and some people do. Get over it.

I don’t know if that is completely true. The Kyoto Protocol never could have passed through congress, all it took to put it in place was an executive order. There is no legislative oversight in executive orders. If Obama wanted to, I’m sure he could sign on to this through some less than transparent, nonetheless legal, means.

Wouldn’t go to the supreme court if it didn’t have some pretty significant implications though.
If it was just about breaking a contract it would have been decided in a much lower court.
What people fail to realize is that plants reproduce. A farmer may plant non-Monsanto seeds at the beginning of a season, but if his neighbor is using Monsanto seeds, chances are that a decent amount of the seeds you may harvest would have Monsanto patented genes in them. If that is the case, then you legally CAN NOT plant them. You would be violating a patent. But how would you know just by looking at the seeds?
So basically, this case means that, in a legal sense, Monsanto can destroy (through legal fees and lawsuits) any non-monsanto farmer if they find even one monsanto plant on their farm, even if it was an accident.
It is a very transparent grab by Monsanto for total and complete control of agriculture.
So yes, the case two weeks ago decided that you can patent genes. This week’s case was just a green light from SCOTUS for Monsanto, allowing them to run any farmer who doesn’t buy seeds every year from them out of business.
