I prefer the Simple Touch because of the hardware buttons. The Paperwhite boasts a higher resolution display, but I looked at one in person, and I don’t actually think the higher resolution does anything for most intents and purposes. I think the Nook is also much more comfortable to hold in your hand.

I’m the same, which is why I’m glad my Nook does reading only. I also like the highlighting/note-taking capabilities, but I do wonder if those notes can be synced to anything else.

I got rid of my smartphone over a year ago to get rid of mobile distractions. My primary tech device is now my 17" MBP, and I can’t substitute any other device to do what my laptop does.

My favorite part of my Nook is how un-distracted I am when I’m reading. I guess to keep the lack of distraction, I’ll probably just skip this update so that my Nook continues to be nothing more than a simple e-reader.
