The Congress appears to be about identity in a technological world where that is becoming more and more rare. I think it’s intriguing and could be really good if executed properly. It’s definitely not just a crazy cartoon thing.

That’s true if that’s what you are looking for, but I come from the other side where I care less about curating a collection and more about just popping on a station that knows what I like. To me, the radio is more important. I’d like the bonus of the on demand catalog, but I won’t sacrifice a quality radio feature for that — certainly not if I’m going to pay more money for the service.

Pandora has much better song matching; I find myself enjoying its music much more than what Spotify selects. This is assuming you put in a little time tweaking the stations, but that doesn’t take much effort.

By the way, paying does not remove the skip limit.

The Spotify radio is awful compared to Pandora. Spotify basically plays what’s popular while Pandora actually does deep tagging and scanning for hundreds of attributes.

My only gripe with Google’s radio (which I mentioned above) is that rating a song applies globally. Pandora’s ratings apply only to that specific station which allows you to have vastly different stations. Won’t Google’s global rating system cause conflicts among stations? Other than that, it’s pretty great — certainly better than Spotify’s version.
